advanced mathematical theories and statistical methods to support multiple
project teams in the development of solutions to practical problems. Exercises
independent judgment in conducting complex analyses and development efforts,
and provides technical direction to other staff in interpreting statistical
data in order to identify significant differences in relationships among
sources of information. Performs computations, applies methods of numerical
analysis and sampling techniques or utilizes complete enumeration bases to
data. Develops and/or reviews mathematical or statistical models of phenomena
to be used for analysis or computational simulation. Assembles sets of
assumptions, explores the consequences of each set and addresses the
relationships of quantities, magnitudes, and forms through the use of numbers
and symbols. Designs highly complex research projects that apply valid
scientific techniques and utilize information obtained from baselines or
historical data in order to structure analyses to determine limitations in
terms of reliability or usability and any factors that could affect the
results. Plans data collection for projects and determines the types/sizes of
sample groups to use. Develops and tests experimental designs, sampling
techniques, and analytical methods. Ensures the preparation of data for
processing by organizing information, checking for inaccuracies and adjusting
and weighting the raw data. Processes large amounts of data for statistical
modeling and graphic analysis. Prepares or coordinates the reporting of
results of statistical analyses in the form of graphs, charts, and tables.
