Position Summary Entry analyst on projects or programs that are related to
military operations and strategy. Assists in developing problem resolution
options based on knowledge of the situation, utilizing quantitative and
qualitative theory and principles to develop viable options. Under the direct
supervision of a project, program, and/or division manager, or more senior
analyst, and within the scope of work derived from a contract with a
government customer, performs assignments requiring the analysis and synthesis
of systems and projects. Utilizes effective theory, concepts and principles
in the implementation of analytic models and systems. Anticipates future
requirements. Assists in evaluating plans for various projects or program
activities to meet requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Assists senior
analysts in providing optional solutions to commercial and government staff,
based on analysis that utilizes accepted theory, principles and methods.
Operates in multinational, interagency, joint, and service unique
environments. Applies operational background, as well as academic
understanding of analytic theory and principles, during joint and combined
operations at tactical, operational and strategic levels of warfare to assist
in solving current and/or future mission needs or to correct problem areas.
Assists in developing operational ideas in specialty area, and carries out
effective implementation schemes. Assists in preparing or coordinating the
preparation of proposals as required. Participates in working groups, program
development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training,
education and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
Under supervision of senior analysts, monitors standards for the quality of
programs and documents. Assists in the resolution of project and program
priorities. Assures quality control throughout all contract activities.
Assists in developing and executing budgets, work breakdown structures and
other management procedures as required to monitor and control smaller
projects. Demonstrates superior writing and presentation skills to develop
briefings, documents, papers, conceptual, and analytical reports for clients.
Education and Experience Bachelor¿s degree in engineering or a related
scientific discipline plus some directly relevant work experience. In some
cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10
years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly
specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions
involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market
survey data. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Working knowledge of quantitative
and qualitative analysis. Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft
applications. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Possesses familiarity with applicable operational mission areas and national
defense requirements. JITC & ATEC experience preferred. Applicant must hold at
least a secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a TS clearance after
employment.
