          Alion Science and Technology Telecommunication Technician (DISA T&E/JITC) in Frt Huachuca Arizona United States

          Position Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of moderately
          complex tasks for electronic and technical assignments on data communications
          equipment and systems. Involved with monitoring, operating, installing and
          maintaining telecommunications systems. Includes telecommunications, voice
          communications and data communications. Duties and Responsibilities Processes
          requests for new installations, moves and reconfigurations of
          telecommunications systems. Makes recommendations on changes and improvements
          to existing systems. Maintains and updates cable database records for voice
          and data station equipment. Runs equipment and system tests. Troubleshoots
          moderately complex system problems and restores service to down
          stations/systems. Maintains liaison with outside vendors and orders circuits
          and/or equipment as required. Trains end-users on proper use of
          telecommunications equipment. Completes terminal troubleshooting using
          appropriate diagnostic equipment. Installs terminals, controllers, and test
          equipment and investigates and restores service to nonworking lines and/or
          equipment to working condition. Complies with security procedures in the
          performance of duties. Education and Experience Associate's Degree in a
          related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical
          training, or work experience and 2 to 4 years related experience. In some
          cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 5
          years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly
          specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions
          involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market
          survey data. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Effective communication and
          interpersonal skills. Proficiency with PC usage, communication cable
          fabrication, electrical test equipment usage, and network equipment usage.
          JITC and ATEC experience preferred. Applicants must hold at least a secret
          clearance and eligible to obtain a TS clearance after employment.
