          Nestle Unit Leader Coffee & POU in Phoenix Arizona United States

          The Unit Leader’s primary purpose is to coach, develop and lead front-line Route Sales personnel as assigned to his or her team or area of service (branches). The position provides daily leadership and coaching to positions such as: Drinking Water Systems Technicians and Coffee RSR’s. As a member of the Zone Team, the Unit Leader provides training, coaching & development, skill building and support/motivation to their assigned team and individual direct reports. Activities to accomplish this include employee work-with’s; leading scheduled Learning Time; and conducting morning huddles and one-on-one’s with assigned personnel.

          Ultimately the goal of the Unit Leader is to develop a high-performing team of route personnel that consistently achieves its customer service, sales and product distribution goals. The Unit Leader also plays a critical role in establishing team norms; ensuring alignment to NWNA Aspirations and Beliefs; and building teamwork. The Unit Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring ongoing execution of daily customer service commitments and leveraging NWNA systems and processes in concert with the Service Management team. Finally, the Unit Leader establishes the expectations for individual and team performance via the merit review and score-carding process and demonstrating adherence to company policies and procedures.

          Leadership span of control is generally 12-18 direct reports. In remote locations span may be less and responsibilities broader in nature. The Unit Leader provides support, participation and personal leadership in achieving Zone goals and executing initiatives as prescribed by the Zone Operations Manager.

          Previous NWNA experience must include Route Sales Trainer or similar capacity in other organizations


          External experience in front-line leadership, sales, or route sales roles in a route service organization


          Operations experience with Home & Office, or like experience in customer service/distribution


          Demonstrates competent selling skills and/or previous direct sales experience (e.g. SRC/SRR or similar)


          Skilled communicator (in groups and 1-on-1), who can set clear expectations with direct reports


          Ability to hold direct reports accountable through quantitative and qualitative goal attainment


          Ability/passion to provide training & development to direct reports first-hand


          Ability to analyze data to evaluate and coach team members towards performance improvement in areas including product penetration, service commitments and productivity


          Willingness/desire to coach direct reports via daily work-with’s on-route (minimum 3 per week)


          Provides excellent role model, peer leadership and positive influence to fellow team members


          Possesses exceptional work ethic, energy, and drive


          High school required, college degree preferred
