This position is responsible for managing the payment processing units’ technical and data analysis needs.


  • Works as Project lead for payment processing units

  • Composes correspondence and drafts technical documentation

  • Supports the units’ key business processes and applications

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complicated systematic payment errors for the invoice and placement payment units

  • Researches and resolves Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment issues

  • Assists staff with understanding systematic requirements for paying claims

  • Works collaboratively with IT to develop and execute test plans

  • Maintains business system standards by applying project management methods, tools and processes

  • Trains providers and staff as needed

  • Creates and delivers related user documentation and end-user training

  • Completes providers payment reconciliations

  • Gathers, compiles, analyzes and presents payment processing statistical data

  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment


Knowledge of:

  • Federal and State laws, rules, regulations and policies governing financial requirements related to the agency’s programs

  • Personal Computer Microsoft Office Suite, accounting databases and spreadsheets

  • Methodologies and techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling, quality assurance and software development

Skill in:

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

  • Gathering, compiling, analyzing and presenting statistical data

  • Multi-tasking and time management

  • Developing and writing technical documentation

Ability to:

  • Analyze and resolve payment issues efficiently and effectively

  • Translate user requirements into business, functional and test scenarios for various complexity projects

  • Plan, develop and coordinate projects and assignments


Requires the possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the CPS Central Registry


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Two (2) years experience in business analysis or equivalent experience


  • Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
