Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk areas, including credit risk, operational risk, market risk, reputation risk, and compliance risk. Corporate Risk strives to ensure that all Wells Fargo corporate functions and lines of business soundly manage risk, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and offer products and services that meet the needs of our customers. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Corporate Credit is responsible for independently overseeing the management of credit risk exposures (including monitoring and reporting on aggregate credit exposures across groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions) and the quality of credit risk management practices across the company. This oversight extends to all phases of a loan’s life cycle, including origination, underwriting, risk analysis, approval, documentation, boarding, monitoring, loss recognition, modification, and collection activities. Corporate Credit is responsible for delegating and/or removing credit and investment approval authorities to the lines of business. More specifically, Corporate Credit develops, maintains and ensures adherence to enterprise-wide credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures that are aligned with Board-approved risk appetite.

The Education Financial Services (EFS) Data Infrastructure team works closely with Risk Acquisition Strategy team to support the Risk Acquisition Strategies and measure Portfolio Performance metrics. We are also looking to further integrate our Data Infrastructure under Personal Lending Group (PLG) by integrating and supporting both Personal Lines and Loans (PL&L) as well as Education Finance Services (EFS).

This position will primarily support the upcoming PL&L Data Infrastructure (DI) requirements while also playing a critical role in automating all our reporting and DI functions. In addition, expanding our internal data flow documentation for all our reporting and processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support analysis and reporting on new initiatives and strategies including the transition of PL&L DI processes and reporting to team

  • Support the transition of in house developed metadata tool (Metadata Explorer) to EIT

  • Support continued efforts around automating DI processes and reports within SAS, Teradata, and Tableau

  • Provide ongoing support of internal and external audits and reviews, as relevant

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and deliver high quality reports in a timely manner as needed

  • Play a critical role in reviewing all processes and documenting via our data flow Visio charts

  • Evaluate business reporting tools and improve current reporting processes, e.g. SAS OLAP Cube, SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, and etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of risk reporting experience, risk analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, economics, or engineering and 3+ years of risk reporting experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative discipline

  • SAS experience

  • SQL experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of relational database designing schema, stored procedures, and views for performance with large data sets

  • Ability to manage highly complex projects

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

  • Ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex analytical questions

  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
