Join us today. Routinely evaluate and translate LHI service codes and descriptions to LHI providers utilizing current procedure/dental terminology (CPT/CDT) codes. Comprehend detailed knowledge of various contracts to ensure accurate translation and to maintain a successful working relationship between LHI and network providers. Respond to inquiries, resolve issues and educate providers on the contract expectations, processes and paperwork.
Serve as a resource to LHI regarding medical / dental coding. Primary Responsibilities: Translate medical and dental procedures and LHI Service Codes into appropriate insurance codes Capture and recommend system enhancements for improved efficacy Monitor and report the effectiveness of internal/external understanding of LHI services Follow-up on internal and external customer concerns related to coding Research and present updated coding information routinely Provide regular communication to Provider Network Management Department regarding updates Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED CPC Certified Professional Coder, CCS Certified Coding Specialist, or CCA Certified Coding Associate Comfortable working Monday-Friday core business hours with possible overtime as needed 3+ years of experience in the coding field Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents Must be able to train in La Crosse, WI for 1 month Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Business or another related field Knowledge of medical and dental insurance coding National Career Readiness Certificate HIPAA knowledge Adobe Acrobat experience and experience working collaboratively on projects using Microsoft SharePoint experience Careers with Optum.
