The Advanced Program Manager for the Center for Learning Technology (CLT) leads theCLTstaff in creating dynamic and innovative online courses and coordinates with the Dean of Distance Education to ensure efficient and effective processes in online course development and innovation, workflow and workload, customer satisfaction, professional development and training, curriculum, and design.

About the Center for Learning Technology:

For nearly 20 years, the Center for Learning Technology team of instructional designers, instructional web designers, and media specialists has lead the development of innovative online courses and projects across Pima’s six campuses. Now under the umbrella of PimaOnline (the educational division for online courses and program development), theCLTstaff participates in broader improvement initiatives including the Quality Review of online courses.

This position may require evenings and/or weekend work. Some travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging instructional and technology trends for the development and delivery of leading-edge online courses

  • EnsureCLTproducts meet current and emerging best practices

  • Manage the planning, development, implementation, communication, and administration of complex programs and projects

  • Supervise employees to include: prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure staff is trained; make hire, termination, and disciplinary recommendations; comply with HR employee policies

  • In consultation with the Dean of Distance Education, manage workload and workflow processes in theCLT

  • Coordinate with the Director of the Learning Management systems on tasks requiringCLTstaff involvement

  • Document and maintain an operations manual forCTL

  • Develop strategies for enhancing the CLTs ability to effectively meet the needs of the College community

  • Develop action plans and evaluate program goals, plans, operational, and funding needs

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of professional development offerings and events

  • Organize and engage in faculty training opportunities and facilitate continuous improvement ofCLTtraining programs

  • MonitorCLTparticipation and completion of Quality Review tasks; engage withCLTstaff on QR outcomes and continuous process improvements

  • Manage processes and procedures and inventory for the PimaOnline Media Lab

  • Schedule and conduct meetings

  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Leadership, Education, Distance Education, or e-Learning and

  • Five (5) years of experience with online learning development, training methodologies, and online education, including the design, creation, delivery, and evaluation of asynchronous learning courses and

  • Two (2) plus years of online teaching experience and

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in people management

Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Leadership, Education, Distance Education, or e-Learning

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, web design, and/or e-Learning processes

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, evaluate, and supervise a team of employees

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage complex projects and processes involving multiple people

  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals and groups within a diverse, multicultural, and academic environment

  • Excellent customer service skills; maintain a student-friendly and community-friendly environment

  • Effectively plan and facilitate agenda-driven meetings

  • Collect data; analyze and report

  • Identify and respond to training needs

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

  • Proficient in computers and pertinent computer software

  • Awareness of budget administration principles

  • Receive constructive feedback, reflect, and respond

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
